Mahatma Gandhi, the great freedom fighter of India said, “The day a woman can walk freely on the roads at night, that day we can say that India has achieved independence.” His saying of the true sense of Independence was achieved by one of the country in the world. I was fortunate to live in that country for few years. Every country in the world has its own plus and minus. This country has lot of plus, hence has got lot of appreciation from the world!
Lee Kuan Yew was one leader who had fulfilled the dreams of Mahatma Gandhi through his wonderful leadership. The world is so big but he made his small country big in the world map and turned the eyes of everyone towards Singapore in the twentieth century. Incidentally both Mahatma Gandhi & Lee Kuan Yew were lawyers! Lee Kuan Yew, the founding father of Singapore and the man who transformed the country.

The earliest monarchies that we know was around 3000 BC. Human civilization started and developed with monarchy. There are still many countries which have kings and queens even today. Change in the Monarchies have ended for a variety of reasons – revolutions, military coups, and democratic elections. Who knows how long will the current democratic system survive in the world?
True leaders transform and take the country in a progressive way. This man had set an example of transforming the country from the scratch to the modern Singapore from 9 August 1965. This was after many countries got independence.

Coming back to the point of Mahatma Gandhi saying, this country is a safe place to live and safety for women at any time. There are many more pluses.
1. Safest place due to lowest crime and police force.

2. Communal harmony-Public holidays are given representing all religions. Respecting all religions!

3. MRT [Mass Rapid Transit] the rail metro system and the public buses are the backbone of the transport system. They are very efficient. Entire Singapore is well connected by MRT and any part of the country can be reached in quick time without waiting. The transport system is affordable, accessible and convenient.

4. Power network is very efficient and no power cuts.

5. Tap water is suitable for drinking directly from the tap without any further filtration.

6. Many indoor badminton courts at every locality. Wooden or rubber courts. Great place for all nationalities to mingle. Awesome courts to play.

7. Singapore recognizes the value of sport in developing people and bonding the communities. Encouraging playing games by providing infra structure in building swimming pools, table tennis and badminton courts in every locality.

8. National Military Service is a mandatory duty that every male citizen and PR [Permanent Resident] must undertake upon attaining the age of 18 for 2 years. It is a passage that makes every boy a man. Also to build a substantial military force to defend itself.

9. Housing units are sold on a 99-year leasehold who meet certain income, citizenship and property ownership requirements. Land and common areas continue to be owned by the government.

10. Great driving in roads, no honking at all by any vehicles [Less sound pollution].driving within speed limits. Strict traffic rules, fines for violation and repeated violation leads to debarring of driving license. All are tracked.

11. One can witness beeline in any bus stop, train stations, malls. Bees do not deviate from its path and moves in a straight line. Same way they form a single line queue.

12. Regulations about noise. Stricter rules for noise levels to prevent long-term health problems such as general stress, insomnia and even cardiovascular disease. Neither neighbors disturb nor you disturb them!

13. Reclamation of land from the surrounding waters is used to expand the country’s natural land and expand beyond its original geographical borders. Land area increased by 22%.

Lee Kuan Yew was a lawyer but he must be a Bio-technologist too! Inserting DNA into the chromosome of all the Singaporeans about discipline and following rules judiciously!
